Ive been doin alot of research on the 5lug conversion on the s13, and every tech artical i read, they say you cant use 240 struts in the rear cause there bolt and the 300zx are fork, so they use coilovers and use the bottom half of the strut from the 300zx. This is very expensive in my opinion, and i dont want coilovers (yet) but i do wanna do the 5lug conversion. Has anyone done the conversion using springs, and how did you modify the struts in the rear. Any information is greatly appreciated.

That's not true at all. The stock rear knuckle can be used.

In the rear, you just swap hubs from a 300zx or a 5-lug s14; that's it. The knuckle is the piece that everything bolts to, and on the z, it's aluminum. Since it's unsprung weight and not dead weight, it's a nice piece to swap, but the lower strut mount is different, so it's not-practical if you aren't changing to coilovers. Get it?

yeah i get that, but thats what i was askin about. Do you or anyone else know of someone how has done this without coilovers, cause i wann do the swap but 1200 dollars for coilovers and then additional money for the z32 lower part dosnt fit into my budget. Its a nice setp and i would do it, but i just wanna see if there are any other aptions.

You'd need a Z32 lower mount on a s13 strut. Bottom line, I don't think anyone's done that, so if you're set on it, you'll probably have to get something fab'ed.
