You do when you're fine tuning the timing with the gun, yes.

I have a built KA and I run a Garret GT2871R turbo and I love it. Makes good power with no lag. I had it dyno'd at 8 psi and it made 250 whp and 260 wtq. Next week I'm going for a retune at 20 psi and I expect around 400 whp.

Another thing I recommend is to remove the bolt on your timing chain idler and replace it with a 110mm bolt. Go on KA-T.org and search stripped idler bolt and read up. Just happened to me.

Thanks for the advise ill look into that, I got my 240 running it runs like a champ after it heats up, but when its cold it takes a while to stay on i have to either take off or keep reeving it till it warns. also i need a new manifold and exhaust, i cut off my egr valve and didnt weld it shut just used some pliers to squish it close. so now i have a small exhaust leak.

I had that pesky problem too. I swapped to a S14 head because my S13 head was fried from overheating. I reinstalled my S13 idler bolt and right when I got to 60 ft-lbs the torque wrench spun 180 degrees! Pulling out half the threads , luckily the S14 bolt slid right in and I was able torque it (once). The S14 bolt is 3/4" longer. The second round I had to helicoil it.

ok guys so i havent been on here lately, i got recently a new hood and new tires for the rear unfortunately i didnt buy some for the front and i am now paying the price for it. I had a blow out on my way from San Antonio to the Valley and well my tire pulled down my splash shield and took my wiring down with it :(. I am now having to rewire my sh## back together and buy a new tire. I ended up scratching up my fender and some of my hood.

I also installed a new exhaust gotta say i love the sound its pretty loud and ive gotten a noise complain from my apt managers lol. its a cheap ebay one i think i got it off some guy from ebay but the sound is incredible some people dont think its a 4 cyl. Well thanks to the new exhaust i found out that i am running rich as f#### i can make small fire spits not too funny but cool to a dumb extent (Buning Valves :nono: ) anyone know what it might be im using the search button as well but any response is helpful. along with the new cat back i was given a test pipe got rid of my POS cat. the exhaust is all 3" with 4" tip now just need new header and downpipe.

Thats pretty much it for updates the car sits in the valley for now since i did not buy a tire but might pick it up this weekend. :dblthumb:

i should also mention that at first i thought it was my maf so i replaced it with a nissan Altima/Maxima that had the same engine just sideways mount i make sure both were ka24de and i had to just match the wiring to the new plug on the new sensor i just matched the order they were in the first one to the order on the new plug. will this make a difference aka will i need to buy an actual 240sx maf? or will this work and i have a different problem. i am blowing so much white and blue smoke and i know for sure i do have a(n) exhaust leak between the header and downpipe.
