Hey can anyone help me. My car starts and it will run at 1500rpm( high idle) for about 10 sec or less and then just putts out. it doesnt hunt unless the throttle is open and then it hunts till the throttle is closed and then stalls

Background info: It started after i removed the a/c system. the harness is just left unplugged and fuse is still plugged in. i have removed the intake manifold to clean the iacv and put it back together with original gaskets(i realize the manifold may leak now but i will replace the gaskets when i find the main problem) i have consulted the S14 SR20det FSM and according to the research i have done, My TPS sensor is working fine, 5.15V constant and .47V closed and 4ishV WOT ground was fine. i have read alot of the FSM and looked on all kinds of forums and havent heard anything else like this i have called the shops in calgary and they thought it was the TPS. the ECU fault code is 55 with is misc. i am gunna get the Nissan Consult for my laptop and will check back in a few days.

Any Advice or Thoughts Thanks

sounds like a vac leak to me. are you 100% certain that the original gaskets were in good shape?

I would pressurize the intake system and look for any leaks, especially around the manifold.

Hijacker's right, go get a 2" pvc end cap and drill a hole in it put a quick disconnect on it. Slap a 2.5" coupler on it and put it onto the intake of the turbo. Give it about 10psi and listen for hissing. Just did it yesterday and costs less than $5 and found about 3 leaks, haha.

alrighty so i pressurize the intake system and found a couple sloppy connections my manifold was leaking in a couple of places so im ordering new gaskets for everything on the manifold..

hopefully that was the problem in the first place

i did have the stalling issue before i took the manifold apart which just leave the sloppy connections to blame!

im gunna replace the iacv as well cause it is a good price on FRsport right now!

ok so i just got the gaskets and iacv i installed them and pressureinzed the system. NO LEAKS and the car still does not work... it idles right around 1500 - 1800 i tried adjusting the idles but it still just stops after 15 seconds or so... i need help desperatly. my parents want it out of the garage asap and i dont want to pay to get it fixed by a shope but i guess it may be what i need to do

the last thing is the oil i am using. i have never used 0W-50 but would that make that big of a difference?

Sounds like a vacume leak after you messed with the IACV. It might still be the IACV that is stuck in the closed position causing a stall ??? DOes it still have a DTC (MIL LIGHT)?

well the gas has been sitting in the tank for about a month but its 91 octane the best we got round here. i have a brand new iacv from FRsport. i have pressurised the intake system with 14 psi and the only hissing i here is from the unburned gas in the oil thingy... the t that comes off the exhaust side of the valve cover but that is on the un pressurized side of the turbo anyways ( right?)

Edit i dont know what a MIL Light is??

hey guys so the car is still in the shop but basically. the fuel pump needed to be replaced so i got the Walbro 255L!! this got the car idleing fine but it still wouldnt drive. so just for curiousity they tried a new ecu and it got the car running!!i guess the ecu was sending faultly codes to the tps sensor which could be why it seems like it was a tps problem in the first place!!

so i also ended up having a intake manifold leak at the main gasket!! If anyone was thinking about getting the circuit sport intake plenum spacer i would advice against it because it doesnt seal very well.!
