They're haterZ? Most S12's are pretty slow stock. The CA20E is a dog. Although, some did come with a CA18ET or a VG30E, but those are pretty rare. =\Nothin' wrong with the S12, they're cool cars. ;)

S12's rock. They readily accept an SR , CA, VG drivetrain easily. Good luck on finding one that isn't trashed to all hell. But when you do, it is one sweet ride.

good luck on finding a gazelle. but yeah, the S12s were not bad. if you get one, get the V6 or Turbo version so it has IRS. if notl it will have a solid axle, although, that might not be bad if you want a drag car. stick a 400-500hp FJ20 in there and take it drag racing. you could run 10s easily with some 16/17x10 drag radials on the back.

some of the CA20's had IRS too from my understanding. I think my lil bro's did, can't remeber though, it's been a while...

fun cars, I prefer the hatch due to it looking like the Gadget Mobile.

k I can clear up a few things..the S12 was only called Gazelle in Australia and New Zealand. In those countries all the factory cars are CA20E's, but a lot of FJ20ET S12's got privately imported. There are currently no FJ20ET S12's in the U.S., but I know a couple guys working on importing FJ's to swap into their S12 200SX's.

In the U.S. ALL S12's have IRS except 1984 CA20E cars. Those are also the only S12's with rear drum brakes. 1985-88 CA20E's have IRS and 4-wheel discs, as do ALL (84-86) CA18ET and (87-88) VG30E 200SX's.

Best place for S12 info on the web is Club S12.

my friend has one for sale for like 500 bucks or some junk like that. I dont think its anything special and I dont really know much about it, just assume its one of the bottom of the line ones. I beleive it even comes with a free 1980's escort as well... what a deal!

an 80s escort! who can pass that up!!! i wouldnt mind having a S12. IMO they look better than the 8-6 of similar body styling. and with the FJ20 or CA18, dizzamn!!
