I swapped a 90 S13 KA24E and transmission into my 1988 S12 (originally CA20E) and it starts and runs fine until I drive it about a block and the ECU goes into limp mode. The only code showing indicates air temp sensor issues which makes sense since I don't have one but this shouldn't throw it into limp mode should it? I'm running a Stanza ECU which came with the motor and the 240 donor car ran fine with it. The only part from the swap that did not come from the donor car is the MAF but I wouldn't think that would cause the limp mode either. Anyone have any ideas of what to look for?

The maf would throw it into limp mode. I think without the MAF connected you can't even rev up above 2500rpms.

I thought a bad MAF would just make it run like crap, not actually throw it into limp mode. Like I said, it runs great for about a block and then puts itself into limp mode. Shut it off, restart it a little later and it runs great again until you drive a block or so.
