Hey guys, I got my S1 RB25 motorset installed and running. I got the MAF I needed this past monday. It starts and runs fine but I think its running in safe mode, it will not rev past 2,500 rpms. Once it gets to 2,500 the tach stays steady but the motor is missing horribly and doesnt go past the 2500 mark. My ecu seems to be working properly the red light comes on and stays on for about 5 secs after starting then goes off. I just checked the wiring for the maf and its proper. I just replaced the big vac hose on the aluminum intake pipe that was cracked. My plugs are gapped properly. My dad and I have been stumped for a week now, everything we've tried doest work.

Can somebody give me some input as what I could do?

ThanksDanny

*UPDATE*I just checked the signal wire going to the ecu on the MAF, with the key in the ON position I get .3v, at idle i get 1.2v.

Those seem to be right according to JonPowell post 4 down:zerothread/254283

I also adjusted the TPS sensor and no matter where I adjusted it to I still had the 2500 problem.

Are you having break-up issues under load or no load? Many people swear that they have a nice sealed IC and plumbing, but they end up having some leak check all your vac. lines then proceed to maf and O2 sensor.

Definitely sounds maf related. Make sure it has a good ground and that the shielding has a good ground too.

we made a boost leak tester yesterday there is a pinhole size airleak in one of my McKinney Motorsports same side intercooler piping. Its on the hot pipe right where there are two pipes welded together.

That wouldnt cause my problem would it? I ran this same intercooler on my RB20 and I never had this problem.

Also yesterday I went to pull-a-part and bought a maxima N60 maf and running it did not change the problem. The N60 signal wire sends the same .3v, at idle i get 1.2v.

Previously with the stock J60 maf I was testing stuff trying to diagnose the promlem I attached a ground wire to the EARTH wire and attached it to the body. When I did that I blew a fuse and the car wouldnt start.

a pinhole size leak? It can...maybe.....close it off. Like Darius also said, check your maf wirering make sure that they arent broken and or are making good contact!
