Does anyone know of any serial numbers or other obvious signs to tell the difference between series 1 and series 2 lower intakes? I found a ridiculous amount of fuel in my oil and so obviously I need to swap my s1 rail for an S2. I'd like to do it without adapters so therefore I need to either find an S2 lower intake to fit the S2 rails I've got or have my lower machined. Is rather not get the machining done. I've got two lower intakes, but they both look similar. Basically I need to know the differences or find measurements or something. Thanks in advance for any help.

They do NOT interchange. The ports are different between the early and late lower intakes and heads, you will also have to change the early heads to the later heads to use the later lower intake.

Best to use the adapters with the old fuel rail to use the newer type injectors, or have the lower intake drilled for the later type rail and injectors.

So then I would be able to tell which I have by looking at the ports? I'm looking for the differences so I can figure out which I have. I'm pretty sure I have s2, but I need to be certain as I'm having lots of problems getting my car running.

S2 lower intake use bigger lower injector insulators. There are a tad smaller than a quarter.
