ok so ive decided to go with a cage to stiffen up the chassis. im going with the brand s&w they make pretty nice cages for a good cheap price that just needs to be welded in. now my question is that has an body else done a cage to thier car that was custom so i can use your measurement. i have a convertible so i need to make the top work well just to get to the hinges. here are a couple of pictures from what they have done to un s14http://www.greekdrifter.com/drifting/dside.JPG ... dr...e.JPG

here is their web site if anybody else is interested http://www.swracecars.com/shop...Cages

i remember seeing some custom made cages here i just cant seem to find any of the pictures right now

Why would you need measurements if theyre making custom cage? If youre buying one already made thats not for a convertible specifically then it wont work. Heres some people you can ask about measurements or whatever you need. (Post is a little unclear to me) zerothread?id=219029

Check out the powerzamcam verts. Chris Orso (zer013) has the best cage i've seen in a vert.

Heres another to look at zer...age=2

well why im asking for measurements is because the kit they have is for a coupe so it touches the roof. with the vert you cant have it so high.so i need measurements to clear the roof so i can use the latch.s&w told me to get some measurements of what you needed and they were gonna make it for me

The coupe cage would also be too wide because of the extra bracing in the backseat area of verts. So the main hoop needs to be more narrow. Easiest thing to do would be give them your car and let them build it specifically for your car and they can reproduce it later or whatever.

You could always just purchase the roll bar kit from FRSport already made to fit your vert exactly. Then you can just get the front portion done.

Depending on where you want to mount it, you can always do the measurements yourself since you have a vert...

Cost per cage the s&w is way better than the frsport! For the price of a frsport 4 point you can get a s&w 10 point d.o.m cage with nascar style door bars! LOL! I plan on doing a s&w cage aswell realy soon and the customer service they have is awesome. Just bust out the measuring tape and go side to side then measure the height with the top down in the middle of the car and give them your measurements.

I'm going to have to start shopping around for some custom "cage" work. I'd like to get a 6-point roll bar with a harness bar.
