I just ordered S-Tech springs for my 92 240... I was wondering what shocks would go well with these OTHER that the KYB AGX's... I don't wanna spend that much on shocks. This is just a dialy driver car, I very rarely race at all... maybe once every 3 months to the local AutoX, and I don't even take it very seriously... lol. Thanks :D

I suppose you could just run the springs on your stock shocks until they blow. Other than that, the GR2's are a tiny bit stiffer than stock and I can't really think of another quality shock in that price range.

The AGX's are really a super bargain. You really can't beat 'em for the price.

I suppose you could get some crap from Monroe, but I don't know how long that would last.

GR2's most likely won't last very long with that kind of drop. If you want an option cheaper than AGX's, there's always the Tokico Blues, which will shave approx. a bill off the bottom line. (around $260 or so for Blues versus $370 and up for AGX)

I know the AGX's are a good shock "for the money" but I don't see the point of having an adjustable shock if I'm not gonna adjust it. I look at it the same way I look at coilovers. I had coilovers on my Civic and I never even moved my ride height once. I shoulda saved my money and just bought springs that were the height I wanted.

I know there's gotta be other shocks out there that are good for my purposes and don't have features that I'll never use. The problem is I don't really know how to match up a certain shock with a certain spring rate :-/

the adjustability of the agx's isn't height, it's damping. you can make em softer or stiffer depending on what you're doing. keep em soft for daily driving make em stiff for racing :)

Yeh I realie that. It's not something I would even mess with, so it's not something I wanna pay extra money for. Thanks for the input tho
