S-Chassis Subframe Swap Kits - Group Buy going on now!

So guys - this is something we have been working on for a while, and I have been waiting to make the announcement!

As some of you may know, about 3-4 years ago, an enthusiast developed a fairly straightforward kit aimed to allow for the installation of S13/S14/S15 Rear Subframes into the Z31. Several kits were sold with fantastic results, and are quite well respected and sought after.

We have worked out an agreement with the designer to move forward with a group buy of the "Shamwow Subframe Swap" with a 25 Kit Run!

ASCO is to oversee the manufacture and distribution of the kits - and GB participants will have access to additional incentive offers on other ASCO products for participating in the group buy!

Q&A Time!

Well lets get started with questions/answers:

First - for a primer - the purpose of this kit is to allow Z31 owners who feel frustrated with the options available for rear suspension adjustment to co-opt the far more adjustable multi-link rear design from your garden variety S13/S14 (or even S15) Silvia/240SX. This allows the use of the stuff the cool kids have for their S-Chassis cars such as adjustable links for camber, toe, traction adjustment, etc.

Q: What is included with the Subframe Kit?

A: This kit will consist of all the components that comprise the original MikeG Subframe Swap kit. This includes the rear bar, mounting studs, rear C-Channels, top and bottom gusset pieces, and front extension components. Instructional information written by MikeG will be included, as will a 35" long Acadiana Sports Car Orphanage windshield banner.

Q: What is the cost? When is payment due?

A: The cost of the Subframe Kit Group Buy will be 229.99 shipped within the Continental 48 States. Payment will be required in full in order to lock in your spot with the group buy. Deposits are non-refundable.

A serious amount of thought was given to the idea of whether we should require a full upfront deposit. Our main goal has been to get this kit back available for the community, but the pricing of the pieces necessary for this kit is a substantial investment. We have been opposed to pre-orders/group buys in the past, but with our success of developing and offering Z31 Silicone Radiator Hose kits has shown that this can work well. We realize that some folks may feel uneasy with this, and all we can do is point to our record and reputation we've earned from the greater Z31 community as a whole. However, as an incentive to participate, we will be extending some pretty good opportunities to purchase some ASCO products at a significant discount as well.

Q: What else is included with the opportunity to join the group buy?

A: By participating in the group buy, participants will have the opportunity to buy some other ASCO products at extremely discounted prices. We think this will help to make up for the inconvenience of upfront payment. Q: What is Delivery Timeframe?

A: We anticipate that in order to have all the parts manufactured, processed, kitted, and shipped to the end user will take about 8 weeks from Friday 3-27-15 at this point. Obviously, our goal is to have this done quicker, but I would rather build a large delivery window and beat it - than promise to have everything next week and face a lynch mob. If you choose to order the additional ASCO products, those will be shipped out immediately, so that you can receive them and tackle those projects in the interim.
