I think i will be needing a brake replacement soon. The rotors looks fine. But a co workers said i would probably have to replace both :(

But i dont believe him since he never had any nissans or infiniti. (it looks fine )

Im squealing when backing out, which is the first sign.

He said the damage would be significant ( $$$$ )

Could you guys help me with the average cost it was to replaced all 4 brake pads on the M sport ? this quad piston makes me believe it will be alot, previously i used to get the fasttech racing brakes and price was very optimal ( around 100$ for all 4 plus 200 Dollar install ) Altima and G35 was the same.

just did rotors and pads at all 4 corners on my '11 M37S a couple months ago. ordered the parts from Rockauto. Believe I spent around $300-400. Did the install myself. Piece of cake. After I did the job....I learned that there is a more economical source for brakes. Believe it's brakemotive and they're on ebay.

Don't skimp....do the rotors and pads.

I am planning on buying it on ebay since i have a store there and understand the platform.

Why do you say dont skimp? my rotors look okay? is there a reason behind this i dont get?

in the past i did 2 brake pads before changing rotors. usually at the 60k and 120k, after 120k you have to get new rotors anyways.

they look like they could last till 120k i am at 69k

measure the rotor thickness, if they're in spec, then it's your call to run them. I'd at least have them turned. Otherwise, you stand a good chance of getting vibration/shimmy at speed and during hard breaking. At a minimum reduced pad life.

Your car and your call. For the small increase in cost I wouldn't think twice about it.

You can get all four corners, rotors and pads for $200 or so. Many folks on this sub and the Y50 sub use 'Brakemotive' brakes on Ebay.

Getting the rotors turned just means, take it to autozone and ask them to resurface the rotors. They'll machine off the top layer so you'll have a nice new flat surface. Should cost like $10 per rotor.

front pads - $56.79

You need to make sure you don't buy the rear rotors for the 370z/g37. The parking brake ID size is different than the M. I have both cars so I know.

I'm another Brakemotive fan - I installed two sets over the 140,000 miles that I owned my M35x. I have another set sitting in the garage for installation tomorrow on my Q70. I had never installed brakes myself before owning an Infiniti. I went to the dealer at 42k miles and they said I needed new rear pads and the total for installation was $400. That's when I went to this forum and read up about Brakemotive. The price has never been over $200 for a complete set of rotors and pads. Like the others, when it's time to change pads on the rear, as they wear out faster than the front rotors, I just buy a complete new set each time. I've helped a couple of friends swap our theirs, too. They look so much better than the OEM brakes, braking performance is as good as OEM dry and much better in heavy rain. As Andy said, they are no/low dust, and no noise.

How do the brakemotive compare to the fasttech ?

I loved the fast tech and it was fairly cheap.

I will go with the brakemotive this time around, sounds very cheap for the sport model specs though, no? i thought the rotors are bigger and the pads are bigger will results in more $$ lol

Don't let the price scare you away
I was concerned about fitment initially when I purchased them but I was so impressed.
I actually think they work with Stop tech brakes. I don't know for sure but mine came with all stop tech paperwork.

You will be so so impressed. I put them on two months after I purchased my car so they were on for about three years. No warp or anything.

Okay, i will go that route thank you guys, I am however a bit puzzled as to why it says it fits both standard M and the Sports M because i thought the Sport model had bigger rotors and pads. i dont want to accidentally downgrade myself if that makes sense

Is the link working for you?

It is difficult find sport brake rotors and pads when you put your car in it doesn't work very well that's why I put the size of the rotor in the search

The link is correct for the sport model
That's what I would order of I needed them again.
I was very unsure when I was hunting for this stuff.

the linked worked. My issue is this statement :

Fits: Infiniti M56 - 2011 - 2012 - Rear Wheel Drive Models

Fits: Infiniti M56, M56X - 2013 - Models With 4 Piston Front Calipers - (355mm (13.98") Front Rotors)

Those two should not have the same rotors or peds, i remember looking at the specs one day and they were not the same. Am i wrong?

Plus i got the 2012 M56s so im not sure because it is not mentioned

you can use the resources available to you to verify the correct sizes yourself.

So i went with 56 beasts recommendation on the brake motives. the price was good and shipping was quick.

Upon initial look they look pretty good quality for the price. cant go wrong. How ever they are very heavy.

I put them on today and it looks good but i did have a question.

My squealing stopped. and it stops quick while going quick. no complaints there.

However coming to a stop signs or a red light it harder now to judge how much to apply. it seems like i actually have to apply even more force now to stop where i want it to.

Do i need to break them in? or is this how its suppose to feel with those

Did you install or was it a shop? If you don't clean off the oily preservative then it clogs up your new pads. You can try sand off the top layer of your pads and hope you removed all the oils, but then you will probably get brake noise since you'll have uneven braking surface. i'm assuming you don't have a belt sander and will sand by hand.

How did you compress your calipers? Did you do it like some people and open the bleeder valve to make it easier to push the pistons in?
