Ok, does this afc have the ability to store different tunning stages..??

Example:I wana be able to tune in like 2 or maybe even 3 different levels of boost. Like 8psi for daily driver, 11 psi for a race that i know i may need more than 8 psi to win, and 14psi for that race that i know im gonna need everything i got...

Im pretty sure is does not do this but I need it anyway to fine tune it on top of my jwt ecu (we all know they tune it rich )

ThanksRobert

The SAFC II allows for 2 separate data maps to be stored and accessed independently. In your case, you would be able to create and store 2 maps - one for high boost, and one for low.

The previous digital SAFC only allows for one map.

How is JWT ecu upgrade done for KA-T, Do you have any problems? I was thinking to go with Greddy E-Mang, how much boost is your car produce with stock internal? Have a 92' KA-T T3,T4 what is the most stock internals can handle.

Well, the jwt ecu just re-programs the ecu to handle larger injectors, stock or larger maf adaptor, and retards the timming under boost. Its pretty much a plug and play computer. However, the jwt ecu is a very conservative program. They run it a bit rich and they retard the timing a bit more than needed. This way it keeps the motor on the safe side so u cant say the motor blew cause of them.

The greedy emanage is a very nice computer. Its kinda like a stand alone but not entirely like one. The only problem is u need to have a laptop to program it. ( Dont quote me on this ) I may be wrong.

As far as the internals on the ka... Well, there is NO specific limit to what it can handle. We have seen 500+ rwhp on a stock internal ka motor. For how long it will last... who knows..?? I can tell u that there are about 6 guys in the country running around putting down 300+ rwhp on their STOCK internal ka and these cars are their DAILY drivers..!!

Some have had bad luck when they went ka-t, others are still going hard and strong..!!

Me, I put my turbo on my stock internal ka at about 40k miles. This car is my weekend driver ONLY.. The motor is now at 44k miles and it runs hard and strong, no smoke, no leaks. Now im not gonna sit here and tell u that i baby the motor... Cause them id be lying to you. But i also dont BEAT the 5hit out of it either... i do race it, and i do go easy on it.

If ur gonna do ka-t, make sure the motor is up to shape. Boost is addictive and can destory a sick motor FAST..!!!

If it was your choice, what programs would you go with? do you know anyone with e-manage on their KA-T and what other units am I going to need to support This JWT ECU. Thax

Well, my choice was jwt ecu cause it was the easiest program for the power that i was looking for. Pretty much plug and play. If i were going to go ALL OUT POWER, then i woould go STAND ALONE. By stand alone, I mean SDS, Howtech, etc.. $$$$ systems.

I know Marc over at Import auto performance runs the greddy emanage on his ka-t. I dont personally know him, and i dont know any local person running the greddy e-manage. Marc loves it, and he claims its better than the jwt ecu. The only problem is, its a bit more expensive and u need a laptop to program it.

What do u mean by other "unit" needed to support the jwt ecu.??

People said, That JWT runs the injectors rich, that means your going to need a AFC to controll it. Is that true? Is JWT the olny thing needed to run my car good to get 10psi?

NO, jwt does not run it rich so that u can go buy a s-afc to fine tune it.They run it rich so that your motor stays on the safe side.

However, running rich for long periods of time is bad on the pistons. Also running lean is bad on the motor. Thats why the air/fuel mixture has to be fine tuned. For short time, running rich is good, but in the long run it will do some damage. Thats why people buy the afc and FINE tune the air/fuel mixture so that the motor runs properly, they pick up more power, and the motor lasts longer. U really dont need the afc to fine tune it. If u get the jwt ecu, throw the car on the dyno and see what your a/f mixture is like. If its too rich, then buy the afc and fine tune it. If the a/f mixture is fine across the board, then u dont need the afc. More than likely you will need that afc..!!

To run 10 psi, you will need an upgrade to your fuel system. That means, larger injectors, larger fuel pump, larger fuel filter. Then as far as the actual fuel management, u have several options:JWT ECU with or without AFC depending on a/f mixture after dyno run.Greddy EmanageStand alone system- SDS- Howtech etcS-AFC ALONE, but then u will have to retard the base timing to compensate when boost kicks in.

There are several options out there. Its just a matter of preference and how much power your goal is and how much money ur willing to spend
