Recently, the brake lights wouldn't go off on my 1991 fastback 240. I had to have the plastic stopper for the brake light switch replaced by a mechanic friend of mine. It broke again in four days. I then decided the second time around to try and repair it myself. First, I tried to just use the plastic stopper from my cruise control (since it doesn't work), and my lights still wouldn't go out. I figured it wasn't thick enough. So I then just installed a brand new rubber one from the dealership AND THE DAMN LIGHTS STILL WOULDN'T TURN OFF!!
I then had the bright idea of replacing the plastic stopper from the cruise control switch back where its suppose to go along with the new rubber stopper on my brake light switch, and whaddaya know my brake lights finally turn off when they're suppose to.
My question is, are both these switches inter-related? You know, does one's function affect other? I'm just making sure that my bright idea was in fact the solution and not some other random thing I did (like slapping some other thing under there in fustration)...
