Hello,:helpI'm planning on doing this swap by the end of this summer in my 95 240 se. I was searching around but there wasnt much info for the swap in the s-14. I've read many threads about the s-13 but I was wondering what the difference was for the s-13 and s-14. What I have found out so far was that I needed a crossmember from the skyline and a custom driveshaft to fit this motor in. I hear that the stock mounts will fit but I will have to reverse the rear transmission mount and use a spacer 1.5" wide. I also hear that the front sway bar wont fit and I might have to relocate some lines around. Is this all I that is needed for me to do the swap for the s-14? What else am I missing? Also How hard is the wiring for the s-14? Does anyone know where I can buy a manual in english for the rb25 wiring? thanks much

man has cameron brainwashed every sole n the 240 community?if you do that the way you say you are then good luck with all the problems. let's put it this way. if i ever did put a rb25 in my car s14 or not. beating the tunnel is not a good idea.choping the hood is just goofy. and flip around the transmission mount with a spacer. thats almost as funny as the wiring he does.

save your self alot of time. get mounts, get mounts, get mounts.have someone do the correct wiring. i e mckinney or UH. or go stand alone. a drive shaft can be made with the old parts from the yoke of the rb and tailend of the s14 shaft. for about 110bux.bolt in everything. plug in the harness...wow plug and play! put in fluids and crank up your car.

and if you need a manual...google is your freind.

I just had my RB in my S-14 just test fitted it. Get mounts or make some, thats the best way. My firend got some measurements went to the machine shop and asked them to make us some mounts. We also had them make a one piece uppipe/downpipe for the car, they'll look nice once it's done. we didn't bother using the stock downpipe, so I don't know about the alignment on that. As for your driveshaft just have a one piece one made instead of tring to modifing the old one. I not to sure about wiring haven't tackled that problem yet.

How hard/how much was it to have a shop make the mounts for you? I'm going to be doing pretty much the same swap as soon as my engine gets here.

Rub...there is nothing wrong with a little hammer massage ;) There's nothing goofy about chopping a hood...it's not hard and it doesnt show from the exterior...as for wiring, I dunno how night does it, but I'm going to do whatever I have to to get it to work...I dont care how "goofy" it is, its not a big problem, its all hidden anyways. I dont see a need for mounts either, several people have had no problem dropping RB25's right in without custom mounts. My point is just that some people are looking for the ABSOLUTE most affordable option and spending 600 dollars (a ridiculous price) is out of the question just for some friggin motor mounts...and 500 bucks for wiring when you could figure it out yourself is outrageous as well. Not everyone is willing to throw money away like that.

That's the boat I'm in. I'd like to go with custom mounts, but 600 is a damn lot, that's why I'm wondering how much it would cost to have a shop do it. You know if you could get that shop your getting to make them to make an extra set cheap? I'm still not sure how I'm going to do the wiring, but I'm going to do it myself, or with a friend.

I guarantee you I'm going to get that motor in there for less than a hundred bucks without custom mounts ;) That is, IF it doesnt fit in there as is, if it doesnt...I'll just figure something out. As for wiring, I'm thinking of just buying a speedometer and tachometer and ripping everything out of the gauge cluster, getting black plexiglass and mounting those and my EGT gauge in there...screw this wiring crap.
