Was it worth the time/effort/cost? Was it a very involved process?

It looks really nice.

From what i've read its a fairly involved process. IMO its hardly worth the time/effort/cost even if you got a front clip with all the parts needed.

Do a search, last month there was a thread with a good discussion about the digital a/c controller.

Well I'd say it was well worth it. I spent quite a few hours resarching and lookin for parts in the junk yard, but I found out its not really that hard at all. I didn't even have a wire harness. I got so sick and tired of that controler just sitting in my room for a year so I got the schematics and figured it out.

I got it to work about an hour ago. Its pretty nice, I like it alot and I would have to say is deffinently worth the time and effort I had to put in to it. The install was a bit tedious but all in all worth it. I plan on making a how to for it so give me a couple of days and itll be done hopefully. Ill have to go over all the notes i took so you all can understand it. But most of the parts that you need you can get from other nissans here in the states, I got my parts from an S-13, 95 Maxima, and an M-30. Dont worry if you didnt get a harness with yours either cause I didnt and I managed. Anyways Ill get started on a how to ASAP.

Hey man glad to see you got it working. I may do that rather soon but a slightly different route as you know.

Give me a call this week as Ill be touch and go on the emails (you know my sit. but now add a opaserv.O infected hd on the second machine, and a small fire to mine yesterday DOH), and would like to see it.

Oh in about 10 you'll have links for this weekends event... :)

I am waiting on the aspirator to arrive, guy i bought it from left that out of the box. I have about half of the parts installed so far and about half of a how to done. As soon as I got more done I'll get the install guide up. Its s13 version. I kinda goofed up the sunload sensor installation but its not toooo bad. Live and learn.

Oh.. Can't complain about him leaving the part out and it taking longer. I paid 80 with shipping for complete harness all sensors/motors/parts and the control unit. So now I have an extra complete harness and control unit if anyone is interested. Perhaps 40 plus shipping (prolly 4 bucks USPS)

The s14 digital a/c conversion is very simple. The US system has all the required mode/heater door motors needed for the swap. All you need to know is the wiring pinout on the the jdm controller to match up to the correct US wiring.

The s13 conversion is a bit more difficult. You really don't need the sun sensor or the cabin ambient temp sensor. Those only work with the "auto" function on the jdm controller (which you never really need to press, it's for super lazy people). The main thing you MUST need for the conversion is the heater door motor. The US s13 heater core uses a manual pull door while the JDM has a motor hooked up instead. You have to fabricate that motor onto the US heater core. The US system has all the other required door motors, so it's just a case of matching up the wiring then.

Ok. There seems to be some confusion. I have all the parts for the S13 conversion and am currently installing them. What I would like to do is use the S14 controls instead of my S13 controls. Understand?

It's the same situation you need the heater door motor from a JDM s13 and fab it onto the US heater. Possibly an US s14 heater door would work too (don't know). Then just figure out the jdm s14 control wiring and splice it into the US s13 harness.

What I'm hoping to hear is that I can plug the S13 plugs into the S14 controls and they will work..

No they 99% won't. I'm saying this because I tried plugging in a 180sx kouki digital a/c unit to my jdm chuki harness plugs and that didn't even fit. If you want I can post pics, but even the serial numbers on the control units were different and the plugs were different.

I have a digital and an analog. The digital has a complete harness with both sides of all the plugs but no sensors/air mix motor.

I do have a mode motor (controls the vents) but you should have that already

In a few days im going to dive into getting my AC working on my s14 with an s14 SR in it. I wired up the engine, but I have a feeling this is a bit harder :D

I should post a howto on that as well...

Check this thread out. I used it and it was spot on for a jdm s13 auto cc into a us 93 240. Keep in mind the parts he has listed at the beginning. The fan control amplifier is pretty important. BTW, it wasnt hard and it works great. No real splicing except for the constant power and the acc power.
