RX7-VH45 Project

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Hey,

I know I have not posted in a while on Nico, Been super busy with the shop and swaps. Starting VH45 swap #5, this one is in a 85 RX7. Yea, I already know, its gonna be sick.

Got this engine a few weeks back, as always I am a picky sob when it comes to engines, and their history. Drove almost 1000 miles in 1 day last week to meet the owner and pick up his car to get started, He drove a lot farther then I did that day. I got 2 Z32's I am finishing at the moment, and a Ferrari that I need to get moved out of the way, and then I can start the work on this. The owner asked me to do a post updated history on this build.

For those who do not know, I own a shop in Austin TX specializing in Unique engine swaps, and exotic cars (mostly ferraris,). I build for people all over the world, and from all parts of the USA.

This project is using a 94 Q45 motor (non tcs), a 94 N/A Z32 5 spd, and the rear end needs swapped out. Obviously this one is not going under the stock hood. With my DD Z45 I know the power output of this motor with a stick, and in this lil RX7, wow. I have 2 personal Gen II's, and one of those is going to be a VH45, the other has a SHO. Well this is the start of this project. Pics to come, lots and lots of pics over the next 6 weeks.

this is my buddy's car actually that you're working on craig. he's been hyped about getting this done for a long time now and he finally took the plunge to get everything in order.

i'll be keeping an extra close eye on this build myself

Here are a few pics from parking it and, letting it sit for a few weeks while i paint a Z32for a customer. this is gona be a bad Rx45. Looking at 3 rear axles right now. trying to get it traction.

enjoy the view. It will be up and running Early to mid August. Maybe earlier, but these things are not to be rushed. N I think I may to a few things to it to help it hook up. It will be able to run high 10's with stickies when done<with Wes's retune, the lightened flywheel, drag slicks and me in the seat. Thats also assuming I go along a 4.10 rear. time will tell.

FIVE? 5? cinco? vh45 swaps? dang dude i could use your help... putting a 95 non tcs VH45 into my 1989 pathfinder. any pointer as far as custom wiring, and parts needs for wiring and other things to make everything work???
i have the whole Q45 and obviously my whole pathfinder...i haven't pulled anything yet.
im keeping it almost a stock engine, just exhaust and intake. just need some pointers on wiring troubles. havent started yet, wanting to understand more and figure it out before i rip into it...

I gather this build never happened... It just stopped a year ago and then nothing until someone dug it out of a hole :)
