Well, I don't think bending it in a vise is an option. Here is a pic of the two in comparison-tyrannix wrote:stick it in a vise and bend it a bit? alternatives are to run a bit more oil (which may cause marginal more resistance to the crank) or use an oil accumulator (you can get a 1.5qt one on ebay for under $100. they plumb in oil to the pressurized side whenever theres a loss of pressure. then when pressure is restored, it collects back up to its limit)
The pick-up you have is indeed a DET one that's, that's also from a RWD CA18DET. I don't know why your pick-up is different from that one, but it also looks like the AWD DET pick-up as well. The FWD U.S. model is totally different, so I know it's not that model. The pick-up I sent you is the exact same one that is found Overboosted180's engine that I just built. remember, there are older model DET engines and newer model DET engines as well, but I'm pretty confident that it should work. And besides, if your car is ever that low on oil to reach the bottom of either pick-up, your turbo is in a lot of trouble just to name one endangered component.c-rad wrote:

From looking at it, it almost seems as though the actual pickup tubes themselves are very close. They are just at different angles. I don't know how that would affect it or not. I wish I could just swap the stupid screens
Yeah, that had crossed my mind as well. Also, the FWD non-turbo models didnt have the girdle for the pickup to attach to. I am sure it will be fine.boost_boy wrote:The pick-up you have is indeed a DET one that's, that's also from a RWD CA18DET.
