I know I'm probably going to be flamed specially since I'm new here :ohno: :ohno: .
But anyways I have searched and searched and all I have found out is that both the Altima's and 240sx have the "same" engine but the bell housing are different and so are the head.

But as I looked for more info, different forums keep mentioning that you can mount a AWD Gti-r rb20 transmission to a fwd ka24de Altima to make it RWD and still keep the engine mounted the same way.

The reason I am asking this is because
1. tomorrow I'm picking up 2 1994 fwd ka24de engines for free
2. I found 1 AWD Gti-r rb20 transmission for a decent price
3. Also know a junkyard with a couple of Altima's

So all I really want to know is this actually true and what will I have to get, parts wise.

Thank You and Happy Holidays

idk man, if you are talking about the current gen altimas then it's a totally different chassis and engine, different cars.

welcome to nico!

He was asking you to clarify which chassis you are referring to, not the engine year which you stated as 94 in the OP. The 7th gen Altima has quite a bit different from the previous models.

You might have better luck posting this question in the 240SX Tech or KA Engine sections.

Idk about RWD but I believe you can however swap the drivetrain from a nissan Rogue which is awd to an altima.

I remember reading an article on this. The frame is mostly the same but there's problems where the transmission mounts up so it wouldn't fit. The exact match up is the Nissan xtrail which is only made in Australia I believe.

Actually the Xtrail is available in Canda as well as I'm using parts from one for a project car here.

However the Xtrail is closer akin to the B15 sentra. The rogue to the B16. The Murano front/rear subframes are closer to the equivalent generation Altima ( 1st gen murano to L31, 2nd gen to L32)

As to the OP, the GTIR transmission will not line up on it's own to the KA, I'm pretty sure you can however separate the bell housings and swap internals ( ka Bell + gtir gear set).

However doing this still does not address the fact that you need a new rear subframe, rear differential, axles etc. Rear wheels do not spin without them. To the best of my knowledge the only nissan compatible parts are the Bluebird SSS only found in Japan and australia

^^^^yes. You could do an AWD conversion to a CVT v6 coupe for less than $8k Though :gapteeth: (+

lol, who would want an AWD CVT?

Btw, Racingline, it's too bad you guys don't make aftermarket axles because I couldn't find any manual transmission ones that were re manufactured which would have cost me around $150. Instead I had to pay $1,068 for OEM ones (for my cvt to mt swap I'm doing). :(
