rusty sunroof

My 96 (pearl) has a badly rusted roof. Can it be saved or what? Has anyone replaced theirs?

I assume your taking about the part if the roof that opens and closes. Depending on the extent of the rust damage, you can go to an independent body shop and see if they can do something or you can get a lid of a salvaged J30 and try swapping it, however, the latter solution is quite labor intensive and unless you do it yourself will be very, very, very expensive.

there was a post by Carlos recently in Feb 06 that described an easy way to take out the sunroof lid without the hassle...then get a good used one from a junkyard, have it painted to match and install it...
