Ok so I'm planning to paint my calipers but I want kno if there's a way to get the rust of the rotors??? I plan on buying a whole new break system before wintah but I want to make rotors and calipers look good now. Any way of doing this like a chemical, scraping, painting over???

Don't do anything to the braking surface of the rotor. If you want you can take some steel wool or something to the hat area, clean it up and then paint it. I repeat though, do not mess with the braking surfaces, do not get crap on them, make sure they are clean when you finish doing whatever else you are doing down there.

just clean the rotors with a wire brush to get any rust off, you don't want to use any chemicals around your brakes. if you want to prevent the rust from coming back you'll want to paint the rotor too, except for the area where the brake pad contacts the rotor. or, you can always get new rotors that don't rust

I wouldnt touch a thing to the rotors face... using the brakes will take the rust off... only touch the "HAT" this part isnt touched by the caliper

Rust on rotors is normal when they become wet. Even if you wash your car you will notice rust on rotors appear quickly. This is normal and it comes off with the use of the brakes when driving. This is normal for rotors on any vehicle. AS to cleaning they will clean themselves when you drive and do not coat them in anything as braking efficiency will be decreased and could cause accidents.

depends what part of the rotor he's talking about. rotors will rust daily on the surface where the brakes are applied which you can't do anything about, but the rest of the rotor will also rust too. driving around will get rid of the rust on the area where the brakes are applied until they get wet again, but the rest of the rotor can be painted to prevent future corrosion.
so doing this is fine: Image

this however... not the smartest thing: Image
