Rusty exhaust, any decent repair kits exist?

Have 2001 QX4, and where the rear and center muffler connect has rusted out. Both ends are pretty much rotted, but eveything else is sound. Does anyone know of any kits that can be used to rejoin the 2 pipes?

I have the exact same problem and need help. Did you ever find a fix? This the piece of the exhaust system that goes over the rear axel.

Does anyone else know if this muffler joint can be repaired without replacing the mufflers on either side? Perhaps a new 2" pipe that could be shaped and welded to join the front and rear mufflers?

I had this problem about a year ago. I just took it to a muffler shop and they welded in a new 4" piece of tubing where the exhaust broke. It cost me no more than $30.

There's not a "kit" available just go to an exhaust shop & have them rplace the exhaust. Don't fool around with replacing the small piece just do the whole thing at once, thats what I did & it cost about $100 more than the repair & you'll be much happier.

What do you mean by "replace the whole thing?" Looks like there's about 2 feet of pipe that goes between the mufflers and wraps over the rear axel. Is that what you are talking about?
