Help, I have a 2001 qx4 and today I was driving and the petal went to the floor. The brake line above the rear drive train is rusted and broken. They also go to the lsv sensor. Anyone replace these brake lines or know part numbers?Dealership quoted me 4400 to fix brake lines and they are also blaming master cylinder and brake booster.

I took a quick look at the Infiniti Parts Deal website and found most of your original brake lines are now discontinued. https://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/parts ... ntrol.html
The rusted out tubes can still be replaced but if original pre-formed tube parts are not available then they must be fabricated. It's a common thing that has to be done when original equipment tubes can no longer be purchased and it usually ends up costing more.

You may be able to find the OEM brake lines still available but if you DIY, be sure to use the right tools for the job. A flare nut wrench is a must. Penetrating lube, like PB Blaster, and a propane torch will be needed as well. Even then, if this vehicle has not had regular bleeding of the brake lines, the bleed screws on the brake drum wheel cylinders may be rusted in so badly they can break off when trying to remove them to bleed the brakes. If that happens, the drum brake cylinders will need to be replaced as well. Aside from the booster and master cylinder having to be replaced, if they are defective as the dealership indicated, brake line plumbing repairs can escalate into additional repairs and component replacements. I've been there and done that. Be prepared if you DIY.

The two rear brake lines (left and right) that run along the rear axle into the wheel cylinders are only around $20 each from the dealer and should still be available, I replaced mine about a year ago. I don't have the part numbers at the moment.

You can also buy the ready made brake lines from the auto parts store. I changed the three lines going to the LSV about two years ago using them. I believe it was a 20 length I used for the two longer lines and a 12 length for the short one. They are already flared, you just have to bend them.

I havent had problems since. But do examine the flares at the ends of the lines, because if it has imperfections or doesnt appear to be flared properly it will leak.

Also, try to get them as close as possible to the shape and bends of the old lines. I made a mistake when i initially did mine and the small line was a bit close to the upper control link and when I hit a bump the link moved up and broke the line. This happened on the highway actually. Good thing it was 6am with no traffic on the road and i was able to get home by handbrake.
