I need some advice. If anyone has tackled this area of rust/rot any help/advice/pointers would be greatly appreciated. It tends to run alond the seams of the panels and frame. I know it is gonna be a cut, grind, Por 15 and weld but I'm looking for personal experiences......Now on to pics

Where did that screwdriver go?There it is lol....and some more....

Typical spot caused by the constant head from the header. Hows the frame rail? Well all you need to do is cut it out and weld a patch now, motors out. Its sanded down, its the perfect time to fix that.

Funny thing, I have a small hole and surface rust in the same area. Mine is not that bad.

HA! Mine was worse when I first got my ride.

Honestly, you gotta take that to a body shop that can work on metal. It cost me $400 to repair the wheel well and the frame rail. If anyone charges you more than that, they're a s***head and can't work with metal most likely.

Good luck.

i think its safe to say alot of NE cars have this....

unfortunately i will tackle that next year when the engine is out. theres too much plumbing in the way to do it right when you got the engine and A/C hooked up.

^^ i love having a hookup for metalwork. no shop fees, i still havent gotten what i owe for the rest of my patchwork so i guess i shouldnt brang yet

Yeah, the gap right below the brake line I'm thinking to fix first. Since the hole with the screwdriver isn't that big, I'll save that for later this summer when I pull the motor for a swap (only a little bit of DD). Plus by that time I'll have a bunch more suspension parts (on top of what I have now) so I can have another reason to take apart the suspension. I absolutely hate rust. Oh and I also have the same thing on the other side, and rot in the rear. By time I'm done my welder should have paid for itself
