So I just got my ballin 16" stockers changed to 18" borbets and I noticed that the rotors are completely rusted. I guess it was because of the rain, snow, and salt around here. Anyone know how to clean it up? The guys at the shop said it wasn't even worth it becaues it'll just keep rusting and another guy recommended getting cross drilled rotors. Kinda lost and I tried using the search thing but none of the results let me go into them

All rotors have surface "rust". Its not really even rust. It happens after rain or snow and you park your car overnight. It goes away the minute you hit the brakes.

It is on the surface of the rotor right?

Quickest way to get rid of the "rust" on your rotors is go for a drive and use your brakes. Plain and simple.

Yeah...it's on the surface. I'm hitting the breaks but it's still there. I drove 100 miles today and it's still there. Idk. I'll try taking some pics

Holy crap! Well if it's that stubborn....go get a can of brake cleaner and a soft wire brush.

yea its really just a mixture of surface brake dust and water. If you have early morning fogs/dews, you will get your surface looking like that. It happens every time you wash your car also.
