i bought my first 240sx last week as a project car for $600. engine blew on the way home, but i was planning on changing it anyways. however, i got under the car and noticed a rust hole near teh catalyc converter. also, there is a rusted section on one of the beams that goes along the body of the car underneath it. this is so depressing right now, but im wondering if this is fixable. is it a bad idea to weld on a piece of steel? or is the structure probably too weak? i reallly really want to fix this car, but im considering taking apart the whole thing and selling it for parts to try and make some moeny back.

if its that bad and you don't have the money for a restore project i would sell it off.

what is considered real bad? i dont knwo too much about this. on the frame itself, there is about a 6 in long rusted section, but thats it. undernaeth it, ther teh 1 ft hole, but i dont think thats major jsut because that area dosnt seem to have much support for the car.

if someone has money or the knowledge of course it can be fixed. If the guy knows welding im sure he can fab up his own front frame if he wanted too
