Rust/random.. something deposit?

I have been trying for a while to get this random schmegma off of my rim. It looks like a mix between rust and solidified salt from the roads here in mass. If i apply a lot of force it almost chips off and i can see the rim underneath. It has taken me a long time to make a little progress and i am getting pissed. anyone got any good products for getting tough schmeg off of my rim.

Have you tried armor all products? Also try using cleaning products. I had a lot of gunk on my rims and I just used what sounded best fit when I was searching for cleaner at the auto parts store.

if worse comes to worse try sanding with very fine grain paper then just shine it back up with some shiner.
