when we stabbed in windshields and quarter glass at work, we prep the surfaces with solvent where the beads of adhesive are to be applied. apply the adhesive evenly and neatly. stab the glass in where its supposed to be, carefully lining up the glass and pressing firmly onto it (good to have a buddy or even better, glass handles with suction cups). i used painters tape to hold the glass to the car temporarily and then using the suction handles or a stack of rags, use heavy duty tie downs to hold the glass. in the case of the quarter glass, appropriate tape would be best, but if you can get a tie strap on the glass more power to you. let it cure overnight for best results in a room temp environment with the car on flat ground and undisturbed.
harbor freight or most specialty tool stores will have window replacement tools in stock. "thetoolwarehouse.com" has a nice selection of tools for lower than retail, but you have to pay shipping. definitely check it out if you're interested.
