So i got to jack up my 1985 300zx to check out the rotors and break pads and i look at the lip to set the jack on, and its rusted and it looks like its too rusted for me to jack up the car on. And since the rear quarter panels are gettin rusted so how can i replace these. What are my options on this.

Ill get pics up tomm. but its late and im making a list of repairs im planning and i wanted to get some answers on this ASAP. thanks again

welcome to the world of Datsun/Nissan rust, first thing identify whats casuing the rust, T-top seal leaking? clogged T-top drain tube? that hellasweet in car aquarium sprung a leak? you gotta make sure any replacement parts are not gonna rust as well!

now the bad news, last I checked very few body parts are available in the aftermarket for the Z31, which is why the first thing I tell people looking at a Z is to look for rust, for what the rust repair will cost in metal and mental health it's cheaper to start with a solid car, yout looking at BIG $ for OE parts or trying to find them in a junkyard, also pay close attention to the area where the trailing arm subframe bolts to the body it's important that it be strong and in the right position! you can check with your local body panel shop but I doubt you'll find what you need good luck you'll need it

and oh yeah, victoria brittish and MSA are gonna be your best bet for panels, may not be the cheapest but they have the best selection and MSA sells used body panels as well
