rust on shock towers...not goood

hey...my shock towers are fairly rusty with two holes at the top about the size of a dime and larger serface rust are on tope of both of them on the side facing the windshield...ill post some pics but i was wondering if this is a major deal ,,like me drivin down the 4 lane one day and the front end rips off and shock shoot through the hood...and could a body shop or someone weld these to fixe the problem? thanks againn

I have a *very* tiny bit of rust on one of the seams of my S13's shock tower. Certainly no holes like what you're talking about, but I'd like an answer to this as well.

Anyone have any experience getting this sort of thing fixed?

That sounds like it could develop into a major problem. I would first clean up all the rust and then find a good welder. You could fix the holes but the best bet would probably be to weld a new plate on the underside of the tower.
