I got time. I am just going to keep looking for a good s14 chassis and just work on my motor for this car.

to the guy that did JB weld

you are an idiot

to the OP you gotta ask yourself; is it worth the effort.

very few people bother with rusty cars as AZ said.

i had some (still got the front half to do) but i took it to a close friend and its pretty much as clean as its going to get.

i love this car, it's a first car love and i dont want to just get another shell.

and 1800 for a CLEAN s14 shell isnt a bad deal.

when i go to look for another Z im soo looking for non running examples in AZ and having it shipped.

learned my lesson with that one

Sorry op, but just like what Greg said, you're better off getting a rust free shell on this one.

After seeing those pics of the rocker panels, one could only imagine what it looks like behind it...trust me. When i was cutting out the rusted areas on my car, on the surface it didn't look to bad but behind it, it was just awful.
rubicscube420 wrote:your right I didn't want to hear all that. I put the word out on craigslist about getting a rust free shell but most of the shells that I have found were s-13s or automatic s-14.
You can always do a 5 speed swap. Imo, when I was looking to buy a 240, I came across a lot of clean automatics...unlike the manuals which most were beat up and/or molested.

Anyways good luck man!

Most of these, you could sell spare parts from and make the purchase price back.
Dude thanks for the craigslist search. But what i am looking for is an s-14 shell not an s13... unless I can swap my motor and transmission into an s13 shell no problem.. Personally I would like my swap to be capatiable and I want to play with the s14 look but there is a lot of potential with the s13 look. So I deleted my upper timing chain guard... yea it was nearly sawed in half by my timing chain. I am going to get the side guide out tonight I am hoping I don't have to replace my tensioner As for the shell...

I got an email from some kid asking for 3.5 gs for his shell from my craigslist add. I told him to send pics as I cant see how anyone would put an asking price for a shell that high. He said he just got it painted yada yada hopefully it has kouki headlights or something. Well me and my boy are willing to drive to go find a chasis. JGY customs has a s14 chassis minus the front end for a g. I might be able to keep my front end if I take care of all the rust on the front panels.

the only reason i did it was there was rust elsewhere,

i could spend 1400 to get it fixed.

or, i can get another shell for 1400.

i would rather save up and get a shell.

JB isnt pretty, and it isnt a permanant job, yes i know.but a cheap temp $6 fix is better than fixing it for 1400 whereas i can get a shell for the same.

dude seriously just drive that S14 untill you find a nice shell. trying to repair the rust will be a huge pain in the a**. even if its just surface rust in some areas its still hard to stop rust once it starts. drive it like a beater. if your willing to travel to find a nice shell then check out the cars in the south cause most cars in the south dont have rust unless they are in beach towns.
