I saw this and though Id investigate mine.
It turns out I have rust on both rear sides after partially removing the plastic well flares.
I got a metal brush and brushed out metal body chunks falling to the ground :ohno: while my heart was sinking :frown: . Also the plastic flares accumulated alot of mud. So I have it a good shake.
Well at least its not on the frame but I would hate this thing to eat more body.
I know that taking this to a body shop will be the best thing.
I doused it with Rustoleum's reformer. I am letting it dry for a day or two and spraying it with under coating. Either way I thought Id post this to give a heads up to some. Comments are welcome as this is all I can do for now. I was thinking of putting some naval jelly but meh.

note this pic is someone elses++++

+1 on checking

I took a look at mine a month? (maybe two) ago and sure enough there was a bit of rust here and there.

And I live in rust-free Vancouver!

I fixed it up with rust converter, primer and some paint I found.

Lucky for me, my flares cover my "fix"

Same thing here in the passenger side rear door area.... Rust converter and Nissan paint hardened it up, and made it look good again...and hopefully stopped further corrosion.
