My wife has a 2006 M35X w 92k. Loves the car as it takes her everywhere her photographer eye can lead. It spent the first 8 years of life up in Calgary, and the salt and winter have taken their toll. I went to put rear pads on today and encountered the worst rust on suspension parts I have ever seen. I have soaked everything in PB but cannot move the caliper slider bolts or the caliper mounting bolts. I cut most of the head off with a chisel before abandoning that method. I need any tips you have found helpful. This is a dilemma. My daily driver is an old Lincoln and we have a 75 450SL and a 1953 Hudson Hornet and I have never encountered a bolt I couldn't "finesse" til this M35X. Ideas?

I have had better luck with aerokroil than I have had with PB. Can you remove the caliper bracket and just replace everything?

Exactly my suggestion. Save yourself the headache, replace the caliper. I bet they can be had for $40-60 for an 06.

I agree with Debonair.

Also, I'm moving this to the correct M forum as you posted in the 2011+ M sub-forum.
