Russian jets do flyby on US naval ship

That's some crazy stuff. I wouldn't be very happy if I were aboard that ship. Kudos to the commander for not escalating the situation.

I heard about this on the drive home this evening. Said that one plane passed about 30 feet from the ship. I'm not sure I would have handled that as graciously as the commander did.

They were flying nice and slow, too. Probably seeing if they might get a rise out of the crew. Though based on the video, it looks like they weren't armed with any missiles.

no one seemed alarmed. they were unarmed, and in all fairness, we're on their turf. typical military flexing, nothing new to see here. the ship was there to perform helicopter flight operations. the russians just beat them to the punch.
