Ok so my 91 N/A VG is runnin like crap...the kid i bought it from a while back said it had low compression in cylinder #2...but its not running like that...like when I start out ill let off the clutch and with the pedal to the floor it will finally catch and go...its not a slipping clutch Ive had plenty of those in my lifetime...I think it may be like injectors or fuel pump or maybe even timing...does that sound right...like i had it to the floor in fourth gear on the highway and i couldnt get it passed 60mph...to be honest it runns like a camed v8 lol...chug chug chug haha..any ideas guys?

First, check codes:

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan ... ostic.html

Second, do a power balance test:

With the car idling, pull the connector off each cylinder's coil pack one at a time. Each time you pull one, the rpm's should drop noticeably. If you pull one and the idle doesn't change, then that cylinder isn't firing. Usually it's the injector but in the rare case it can be a coil pack.

Do these two things and then post back with results.

could be a few diff things, could be timing, could be the ptu, could be a coil or mixed up connectors. id start with the power balance test as stated above.

Alright changed the spark plugs real quick to see if maybe that would help...it did help a little with the hesitation but still runs bad...also when i pulled the coil packs I found that ALL the connectors and almost all Injector conectors were broke and held in with zipties...this could be part of it i imagine...when i pulled the codes it gave me a 12 and 13(12*: air flow meter circuit/13*: engine coolant temp. sensor circuit) and neither were throwing a check engine light...so then I checked the o2 sensors and no check light came on...sooo im probably running super lean...so im thinking fuel filter/injectors maybe...also where is a good place to get the connectors...ill end up snipping and soldering them in...

Check and make sure that the MAF sensor is connected properly. You can zip tie it like the rest until you get a new one from Z1motorsports.com. That's where I got all mine and they are in very nice condition. Also clean your connectors and that might get you running smoother as well.

Replaced the mas setup...the tbar was cracked and they had it duct taped up and the cone filter was pushed into the maf as opposed to around it and they had it wood screwed in so I'm sure it had mad vacuum leak. So I took all the tape off cleaned it up super glued the cracks and tears and spray painted it...looks brand new! Got a new cone filter that fits around the maf intlet and cleaned the maf. Also the coolant temp sensor was broke the wires were completely tore out...so I got a new plug from conceptzracing.com and installed that but ran out of time and had to go to work and I forgot that I popped the trunk the night before and the battery was dead from the light in the trunk so I'm gunna jump it off tmrw and see how it runs...

ok welp...neither the plug nor the MAF things worked still getting a 12 and 13 code...pulled the coil packs while running and found that neither 1 or 2(the front left and right) are firing...so lost...replace coil packs? could the plug clips being broke have something to do with it?

Mine was running real bad and throwing Code 13 awhile back. I replaced the coolent temperature sensor (like $20 at autozone) and it ran MUCH MUCH MUCH better. If your getting that code it and it is running like dog do, fix that first!

Yeah I'm gunna pick up a new maf and plug as well as a temp sensor. I'm also gunna pick up some new injectors here in the next few weeks...hopefully that works out...in the mean time I picked these up for an amazing 200 for all four powdercoated g35 18in wheels...anybody got some ideas for tires to wrap them in and size???Image
