So, she holds fluid, revvs, and idles fine but I can't quite drive it yet. If I try to give it any throttle, there is this wheezing or whining comming from what sounds like the intake cam or lower intake manifold area. Injectors? I am not really sure what it could be. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Maybe it has asthma? I'd check for boost/vac leaks first.

It was set right. However, could it be the timing tensioner? I couldn't really find how much tension to give, so I let the spring tension, then used the allen wrench to put a little tension on the belt, then I tightented the tensioner down. I was able to turn the crank pulley and the belt w/ cams before startup w/o issue. But the noise seems to be comming from the rear of the engine besides...

Ok, so I warmed it up, and the sound could be comming from the timing belt. Any thoughts on that? Tensioner? Or could the belt be rubbing on something? Also, she is way more reluctant to start than she used to be, but she has been in peices for a month, so I guess what do I expect?

I'll bet you $1 that your timing is off by 1 tooth. I have done timing belts enough times to know it's not hard to get it right, but WAY too easy to get it wrong.

I can think of one parcitular incident where I was 100% POSITIVE that the timing belt was right. I checked EVERYTHING. I finally redid the belt, and it ran perfect. It was only off by 1 tooth apparently, but it would start and run, but was hard to start and lacked power.

Damn. Well, I have to go to work, so looks like that will get messes with tomorrow. Sigh.
