Quick question to anyone that has bent a rod before... Did it make any kind of mechanical noise at all or run funny, or did everything seem normal?

It'll run a bit lopsided, and usually you'll get a very noticeable rattle.

That's a good representation of rod knock, which occurs from spun bearings and bent rods.

That's kinda what I figured, but just thought I would ask.
I think I may have encountered a minor fuel hydrolock, caused by unknown events. Somehow my EMS lost power, while everything connected still had power, which means that all the outputs on the EMS were high (default state when it's off) and all four injectors were open and the fuel pump was running.

I don't think anything was damaged, but I've never bent a rod before either.

Rods rarely bend unless something seriously bad/stupid happened. Most times it's related to over revving or running really lean. It takes an explosive force to start the rod to bend. Also, most times the rod bends, something snaps and exits the block through a new and permanen hole.

Running super rich won't cause those issues. However, you do need to change your oil if you ran that rich. The gas will leak past the rings and thin out your oil. Depending on the amount leaked, it can potentially lead to a spun bearing

I've seen some bent rods from hydro lock before (buddy drove into a large puddle), but didn't pop the block... Granted those rods look like twigs compared to the SR's.

I did change the oil though, that's the first thing I did after figuring out what happened. Only drained out 3.5 quarts, which is about right (put in 4 quarts, loosing some coating the inside of the block, filter, etc). So at least I didn't get a whole lot of gas in the oil, it did smell a lot like it though.
