hello everyone my ca runs extremely hot all the time and i dont know what to do. i went to replace the thermostat and there wasn't one in my ca (if it was overheating with no thermostat isnt that really bad) so i flushed all the old coolent out put a thermostat in added a new batch of 50/50 mix and added water wetter. i think all the air is out of the system (how do i do it properly? i pulled the temp sensor and let the air out then re-installed it)so i went for a drive around the block and within 5 min my temp gauge was reading 230F. the ca has a new water pump stock 1990 240sx rad and a single electric fan that covers just over half the rad. im lost guys i have no clue what to do bigger rad bigger fans? the motor was fully rebuilt when i got it is there a chance theres some blockage somewhere internally? any help would be great thanks

rent a coolant system pressure tester, pressure test the system.

what gauge are you using stock? cause the stock gauge it worthless it has three settings , cold less cold and whoops... middle could be 40-90deg C.

also i was having overheating problems with my stock rad and a 12" electric fan, switched to a DSM rad and now i have problems warming it up!

are your heater hoses hooked up correctly?? what about you radiator hoses? stupid i know but ive seen it before .

what dsm rad did you use? dose it fit the 240?anyways my rad hoses go as follows the one going from the top of the rad goes to the thermostat housing and the bottom rad hose goes to the one just above the alternator

does it matter if the heater lines are hooked up wrong? the heater lines i will refer to as top and bottom as they appear on the firewall the top one goes to the back of the motor the bottom one goes to a pipe that runs under the intake mainifold

i'm using an aftermarket temp gaugebut even my old ka ran hot all the time i changed rads from another 240 when i did the swap so i dont think the rad is plugged

Either your radiator is crap (probable) or your fans are worthless. Does your car run hot at idle? If you put the headgasket on backwards, you will know about it.
