sorry i know theres tons off rb over heating threads on here ive been reading them for the past 2 hours, i have a quick question though and sorry again.
im in arizona so its hot here 105+*F 70% of the year but my rb20 powered s13 seems to run warm around 200-230* F is that normal? it will reach up to 250* F when im driving it hard it seems way to hot to me! id say 200*F would be fine in the summer even 210*F. i have a 2 row alluminum radiator with 2 12" pusher fans they dont work when im doing over 50mph they seem to restric the air flow. also put in a new water pump and flushed the motor too. i have my heater core block off right now so there now flow going threw the core think that might be a problem? idk let me know what you guys think. sorry again for another heating thread.

Damn that's hot I live in az too with an rb20 also. On a hot day mine ran about 200 max and I was sweating bullets I changed my thermostat to a Nismo one and it stays at 180 max all the time...

make sure the fans have the correct polarity for push config and that the blades have been flipped (if it has reversible blades).

I made sure they were pushing and I flipped the blades so they were correct they just weren't cutting it. I was able to get me clutch fan on with some modification and no shroud it was a tight squeeze but it cools better driving and at idle about 185 at idle and 195 driving. Still hit 200 -205 when it's hot out when I run it hard.
Majorwood76 are you using electric fans? Also what nismo thermostat did you use?
I still think I have an issue

probably worn out clutch on the fan, especially if ambient temps are over 100*.
coupling on my fan works reasonably well and keeps the car quite cool when its 90* ambient but past that coolant temps get harder and harder to control and the fan audibly isnt working as well.

How could I tell if the clutch is worn out? It seems to work fine.

sweet I'm in east valley ill have to look em up and get one.
thats what i was using but they seemed to restrict air flow when i was driving. thecae would run cooler with them off.
