running very rich.......HELP

car is running very rich black smoke coming out of exhaust......replaced distrubutor cap,rotor,spark plugs(old ones where only 3 months old and black like charcol on them)and replaced mass air flow sensor.....car is spuddering.....please help

have you messed with the timing at all? My 240's running rich right now due to the fact that the previous owner messed with the timing. (I get to fix that tomorrow)

coolant temperature sensor? leaking fuel injectors? look up coolant temp sensor in tutorial link in my signature

What about the intake air sensors and O2 sensors? The vaccume system leak can cause incorrect Air/Fuel mixture.I just did some vaccumes myself. My car would run so rich I had to change spark plugs within 60 miles. I'll have to wait for another 60 miles to find out if I fixed it.

On topic, IF the injectors are leaking fuel is it a good idea to replace with another used one or just replace with a new one? How about reman Beck/Arnely? Is GP Sorensen Multi-Port (Mfi) Fuel Injector better than stock?

dont rely on check engine codes too much. retrieve the codes from computer. the check engine light does not always come on when you have codes. disconnect the o2 sensor to see if things improve with it disconnected. clean the o2 sensor while you are ate it.

bad ecu......but now all it does is hesitates still trin to figure out what thats from

check your ground, fuel injectors (some cleaner maybe)?

im goin to check my grounds....my injectors are fine i checked them....do you know the exact number off ground wires there are?thanks man

I only know of one off of the top of my head, by the valve cover, left side. If you're facing the windsheild its towards you. I gets to work on the beast today so I'll take a look to see if I can find more.

just measure resistance between neg battery terminal and engine chasis. should be less than 2 ohms. see ground in tutorial link in my sig

i checked i didnt get anything.....one spot i only got .04....is there any major good spots to check
