Hey guys I finally got my a/f ratio gauge to work this afternoon. After installing it I took it out for a drive and seems like my car is running very lean. It stays on the second bar in Lean only...does not even go up to Stoich/ideal at all. I tested the gauge on my friend's GSX and it worked great on his car. Could my car be running too lean or is something wrong with my connections on the gauge?

Check your timing, And rest the ecu;)

what wire did you splice into for the a/f gauge???

I always thought you insert another O2 sensor or something to the exhaust system, not splicing any wires?

narrowband A/F's suck, big time. I wouldn't trust it.

get a "good" EGT gauge and monitor them, then you can worry about the disco lights being usefull!!

I spliced into the black wire on the engine harness from the 02 sensor. I tried splicing it by the ecu and it isn't giving me a good signal from there. It most likely might be a bad o2 sensor though.

I know the narrowband a/f suck, but it came with the little package that I bought with the boost gauge and a pillar dual gauge pod for a good price. It can be of some use temporarily until I get my egt gauge.

you are suppose to splice inbetween the ecu and the sensor plug not the pluf and the sensor. If you did splice it inbetween the plug and the ecu then you might need a new O2 sendor if the problem proceeds

You can splice in anywhere you want, as long as it is the signal wire you tap. Make sure the O2 sensor has 12v power, or it won't work at all and the AFR gauge will read like you describe.

I belive Spidey is right if it is not spliced into the wire between the ecu and the O2 sensor plug it wont work and if it is plugged in as stated then ur O2 sensor is probably gone.

I do have it spliced between the 02 sensor plug and ecu. I'll get an ohm meter to test the 02 to see if it's getting 12v. Thanks for the help so far guys.
