Running Tail lights Are Not On, But Brake Lights Work/HELP!

I think I need to replace the headlight switch and was wondering how do I replace that?

What, exactly, is your issue? The "running brake lights" which are dimly lit at night, but obviously light up brightly when you hit the brakes, are not functional? What makes you think you have to replace the headlight switch? Give us some more info, please.

Actually, I checked the headlight switch already and it's not the problem. I believe this issues has to do more with the wiring in my truck. Look like "it's back to the drawing board"??

i had a similar problem a while back where the "running tail lights" stayed on after i turned off the headlights..never got to the bottom of it as it was pretty intermittant.

regarding your problem, i think those bulbs are dual filament maybe one of them is out? just a guess..have you checked the bulbs?

Start by checking the bulbs. They are dual filament #7443, according the owner's manual.

Do the license plate lights work? It shares most of the same wiring with the tail lights.

If the license plate light doesn't work, do the parking lights in front work? If not,
then I'd be looking at the "tail lamp relay" which controls front parking lights,
license plate lights, and tail lights.

Left and right tail lights have separate wires from the fuse block, so I doubt it's
a wire problem.
