After my AEM intake install, the car runs rich when I start it up during idle. It runs rich until I start driving then it starts to run right again.

It only does that after I turn the car off for a while and then start again...

Is this normal?

my car will run rich when I 1st start up... it is normal since the ECu is running on a preset program until the Tstat brings your engine up to operating temp...

...& finally goes into "closed loop" using the oxygen sensor as one of the main feedbacks to lean/enrich the air:fuel ratio as needed

some other member confirm my theory that I learned from auto class ages ago?

in addition, if you have your charcoal canister system still working, the excess fuel vapors are trapped there 'till u start up the car again, which is fed back into the intake & burned off...

yes, the coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold tells the ecu to run rich untill it warms up

if its runing rediculously rich, clean the MAF out with some brake cleaner (somtimes filter oil can get on those)

Thanx guys

Ohh.. I did not know that. Howcome it didnt do that before my intake install?? lolz.

It's not running ridiculously rich. It's running at the mid-range of "Rich" on my A/F gauge.

Also, how do I clean the MAF sensor w/ a brake cleaner? do i just spray it on and let it dry?

the a/f gauge might be off

take off the maf and use the brake cleaner. most of them dries by themselves.
