My engine is running rich. The previous owner said it was because the walbro fuel pump. What should I do? I've heard of running injector cleaner through. Or getting a fuel pressure regulator. If anyone could give links to a pressure regulator it would be great.

Umm, I don't think that's going to have anything to do with the fuel pump. Oxygen sensors, MAF problems, poorly tuned AFC or bad ECU tune would be my first suspects.

The only way the fuel pump would cause it to run rich is if it was pushing too much pressure, but that's exactly why there's a Fuel Pressure Regulator right before the fuel rail. It's possible yours is bad, or that any of the things ThisIsSparTTA mentioned. Some people buy adjustable FPR's and lean it out that way but it's usually a last ditch effort OR if they are running big power and dual fuel pumps or something.

Can a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator reduce the pressure? I thought it was only to increase flow?

Yes, most aftermarket FPR's are adjustable. You can set the fuel pressure lower or higher by turning a little knob on them depending on your needs. I've used them on miatas to compensate for turbo add ons. Not the best solution to the problem but it works.
