can some one please help me?....need help asap.. everytime I start the car the rpm will go up and down from 2000rpm to like 3000 or 4000 rpm. when i drive it around and stop at a traffic light and put it on neutral the car begins to loose power/ bog and dies unless i press on the gas pedel. Then one day after work, i was driving home and all of a sudden the sound of the car change to like an old subaru..i could barely drive it home because it was boggin out real bad. the gas was still on half tank. a week later i bought new ngk platnium iridium spark plugs in a month the spark plugs was warned out. so i bought another set of regular spark plugs, drove it around and in that day it warned out. The gas consumption is really bad. I checked a mechanic and he told me that he believes the problem of the car is an emission problem. the car back fires a lot also.

you need to investigate 3 possibilitys first..

#1.) look for a vacume leak somewhere...i use brake clean or ether to find leaks..this will make the engine revup really high after spraying a litte on a hose..#2.) change the O2 sensor..its 15 bucks..you should do this every 30k miles anyways.#3.) test your maf..make shure it dint die on ya..

this will get ya going in the rite direction..dont forget to post your results..as nicco's search function may help someone else with a simmilar issue.

dosent hurt to keep a clean engine bro..but i dont think thats your issue...as for the O2 sensor..there universal and should fit your headers bung fine...just to be shure..take your old one with you..good luck

Thanks man!!! I just drove my car to a certified mechanic to have it diagnosed today and the code it gave us was number 34, which was the knock sensor on the car manual book. Um, we also opened up the ecu box and found out there's a fried cell (not to sure what they call it... solder part). Do you think i would have to change the whole ecu box? Thanks again
