Hey guys, I have an s13 blacktop in my car, and for some reason, the car duting cold start seems to hoold its idle ok, but its defiantely running rich. After that, idle getss a bit rougher and if you touch the throttle, then the car will struggle and die. When driving, if you come to a stop and push in the clutch, the car wants to die. I was looking for vac leaks and can find any...im 99% positive i have no vac/boost leaks anywhere. Anyways, I was starting to get fed up, so just for the heck of it, i unplugged the maf. The rough idle went away and you could tap the throttle and it wouldnt struggle....plug it back in and everything goes to crap! Is it safe to assume its the maf or is the condition just improving cause the ecu defaults to limp mode? Any thing else i should look at? Thanks

I had a problem where the shop told me that supposedly the stock BOV had stuck open... but the car was dumping fuel and blowing black smoke

The bov is tight enough to where it barely opens when i shift on full boost, and i felt around at idle, its definately not opening. Like i said...u unplugged my maf and it started running better....plug it back in...its runs worse...is it the culprit?

Sounds like a maf problem to me. If you can find a known good one you should swap them and see what happens.
