1. What RPM does the RB25DET idle at?2. In 2nd gear what RPM does the tach read and what does the speedo read at idle?3. In 3rd gear what RPM does the tach read and what does the speedo read at idle?4. If you can do 4th please post.

By idle I'm mean in gear with the clutch out and foot off gas pedal.I'm working on a fix for the speedo and tach and this info would be greatly appreciated and if I get an accurate fix, I will be sending the instructions to those who contributed to it.

Thank You

um...all of those numbers would be the same, yes?your asking for all of those at idle, you cant idle in gear without your foot on the clutch.

If you put it in gear and let the clutch out and record the speed the car is going with out putting your foot on the gas so the motor tech. sould be idling in gear. Or you can put the rear end on jack stands and put it in gear and record the RPM and speed with closed throttle. Does that help?

you can't really idle in gear, as the motor will die out, because you need to step on the throttle to keep the motor running.

even if you are already rolling, and step on the clutch pedal, the rpm should settle to whatever you set the motor to idel when it's in neutral.

here's some info on setting the idle, if you need : click me

The car wont die out. Imagine your in a parking lot. Put it in gear and slowly let the clutch out. Your motor will push the car. Your motor at idle is still putting power to the wheels, so if you let out slow enough it wont stall out. Then in second and third. When you get to 4th or 5th then it should start to die out because of the high gearing and not enough power. With my d/s taken off and the RPM set accurately I will be able to adjust the speedo accordingly with my car if I can get these read outs.

sound like you have a very "grabby" clutch...have you ever diven 5-speed before? you would need to feather your clutch a little to start out

I'm on my fourth car and never owned an a/t. All you have to do is put it in first, feather the clutch out until its all the way out. Your car should be moving with out throttle. Do the same for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th is possible. I still need a d/s so I cant do it on my own so I need help from someone with a working cluster MPH or KMH id doesnt matter. Please.

you can try pacing a friend in say 1st gr, 10 mph and tell him to hold it... get your rpm readout from there @ 10mph and adjust the speedo accordingly.

It doesn't sound like getting everyone's idle values will work that well b/c ppl's idle rpms can be set differently. Also ppl may have different wheel sizes. Might be better off pacing a buddy's car.
