I'm in need of help- my 93 240sx ka24de starts and runs like a scalded monkey- but once you kill it, it won't start - I have to wait about an hour for it to start again- when it does, it starts up like nothing was ever wrong. I've changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump- neither has helped. It makes me wonder is it a sensor messing up? HELP!

Sounds like a problem I had way back when I had my mustang. I changed my solenoid to the starter to fix that problem back then. Might be worth looking into.

scalded monkey=good . The starter works, the motor turns over fine. Whether it's hot or cold, after you turn it off it won't start again for about an hour.

Yeah mine worked fine too the solenoid overheats and has to cool down before it will start your car again for you.

if its doing it when its hot then u shut it down it could be a coolant temp sensor.I dont know how a scalded monkey runs but next time u take it out when it acts up hold your foot all the way to the floor wherever u are parked andcrank it putting the car in clear flood mode which takes away all the fuel by cutting injector pulse. your cts could be dumping fuel in because it thinks its like -40

I fixed it- the first thing that I should have considered was that it is a 13 yr old car- what happens to engines with age? The vaccum lines rot. It was a small vaccum line on the fuel actuaor on the back of the intake.- replaced it- starts perfect everytime.
