i think my car is running lean. it has a air fuel gauge that when i bought the car, read about middle. Now it doesn't even register on the gauge. also, i was just driving it around, and the temp gauge shot up on into the hot section. does this mean my car is running lean? what can i do?

also, just the other day i was driving away form my friends house and the car wouldn't start. and i go out and found half a tank of gas in the road. so i had it get it towed home. apparently a gas line form the pump was ruptured. i got a new one put it in and it fired right up. i have not had very much luck with this car and it hasnt even been 5 days. but i love it to death. its the most amazing car ive ever been behind the wheel of.

thanks for your time.

Air fuel gauges are pretty much worthless on SR's. To figure out fuel enrichment you need a wideband O2 sensor.

The heat problem may just be a poorly bled coolant system or the incorrect temp sensor. Was the heat spiking on the gauge cluster gauge or on an actual temperature gauge?

Anywhere really. I lot of people like the AEM UEGO. I use it and it has a convenient output for a fuel computer and their customer service is top notch.

yes

Just for kicks take a temp reading of the hot hose (top) going into rad. IR thermometer of the metar at the mtoor side of the pipe would be best but if you have to you could tape a kitchen thermometer to the pipe (ghetto-fabulous).

check your oil also. Is is clear and bright? It can be a little brown from contaminants but it shouldn't look like a chocolate milkshake.

Do you have access to a coolant pressure tester?

The gremlins have had control for way too long and were going to figure out whats going on with your SR
