Trying to decide how I want to tune my sr. It's a built motor, gt28rs, 1600cc injectors, and I switched to e85. I know a couple ppl that use dsm ecus with dsmlink and have had very great results. It would take a bit of wiring but it would be cheaper and easy to tune..

Let me know your opinions or if anyone has done this.
Thanks!

sounds like a pain in the a**. leave dsm link for the dsm's go with pfc. and your going to run e85 on a gt28rs? seems like over kill. but then i guess if i had e85 i would run it on my setup to.

PFC blows. That's what I'm switching from. I've had PFC on two sr setups and had never really got good results. Actually switching to dsm link it will be easier to tune and I'll save about 500.00. As far as wiring goes, it shouldn't be too hard, maybe a custom wiring harness or use stock Sr with 2g pigtails.. Jusf will take some time. I'll do a write up as things progress.

I don't see it being a problem, the CAS is compatible if you use the DSM trigger disc and use the DSM sensors (IAT, CLT, MAF, etc).
At least it isn't a Honduh management. lol

Well i wont have to worry about a maf(speed density). I currently have splitfire coils but im thinking about selling them because i already have a coil for a dsm in my shop. The only thing i am worried about(which isnt a huge problem) is my tach signal. If it does not work then i will wire up an aftermarket tach. Im going to start ordering everything on tomorrow! We'll see how this turns out i guess!

I was just thinking about one thing..ill be using the guts out of a dsm green top cas(crank angle sensor) which is a 4 wire also. But im not really sure how to wire mine in with my Sr pigtail. Will the cas for a sr read the same signal for a dsm?

If you've got so much money invested in this SR already, why not save up a little more and go aem ems? I've seen so many people ruin expensive setups because they tried to go a cheap route with a tune.

Its not really going the cheap route. I will still be paying 600 for V3 of dsm link. Its not a s*** tuning program. I was planning on going with aem ems but i have a friend that is a wizard at tuning dsm link. He actually just tuned a gst that broke record making 670whp on a stock block. And its free for him to tune my car. When i had pfc on my car and needed a tune, i'd be taking the car up to stl on a trailer and that gets old and not to mention i would be spending 500-700 on a retune and dyno time.

i have heard different things about those spit fires. like the stock ones actually make a stronger spark.

The DSM running gear isn't far off from the stock SR stuff, but any 4 cylinder ECU could be used to run the SR as long as it's tuned properly.

dsm link dumbs down the ecu so its easy to tune, just like a utec on a subaru.. get a real standalone and dont look back
