I need to drive my car around next week since I have no daily driver but I have a problem. I had to reclock my turbo housing drastically to fit on my HKS wastegate actuator (my stock one broke, so I'm running an HKS adjustable one on my stock CA turbo) so the turbo outlet can only be fit on point at a nearly downward angle, right into my motor mount almost. To put it short, I can't hook up my intercooler. Is it alright to just drive my car around without the charge piping, basically just an n/a setup? Or would that just kill my fuel economy? Just wondering cause I have to get to work and have no other way to make it. All your opinions/input would really help me. Thanks.

unless youre running a map sensor, that wont really work

you might be able to rig it by unplugging the maf and making it run in limp mode.

i think your best bet would be to leave everything on and leave the wastegate open(nothing connected to the flapper). you wont be making much boostuntil higher revs, but it will be running alot healthier than having no maf

(this is assuming you have your maf before the compressor, like normal)

I ran my ca around for about a week with no charge piping hooked up. It ran perfectly fine for me. I left the maf plugged in, had a filter over the throttle body and didnt have any problems with eating up gas or running exceedingly rich. But maybe my car is a fluke.

Thanks guys. I was actually just planning on putting the maf on a pipe to the throttle body. That way it would be just like a stock ka.

My buddy had a leak in his FMIC piping on his SR, so he used a coupler, mounted the MAF at the throttle body, and drove 1.5 hours down the highway back home with it. He then drove it for a week, then back to the shop in Houston where he bought it to have it fixed. Ran like crap, but it ran at least.

I ran my CA with my CA intake pipe for a while as well. It ran fine. But I would have to agree with Tyrannix here and say that it would be in your best intrest to hook up the piping and everything and just leave the wastegate flapper loose. You won't make hardly any boost at all, but the car will drive perfectly fine. My car has been like this for the last month because I didnt' have a BOV/recirc valve hooked up yet and I didn't want to screw up my turbo.
